The Travels of Jerry, Kathy & KC

December 29, 2006 - Dickinson, TX - I know that we have not been very diligent in writing for this site since we have been back in Houston. We do apologize. October and November were very busy getting ready for the wedding. December was very busy with Jerry working at the shop (like a UPS store) so you can imagine how busy he and Leah were getting folks packages ready to ship out for Christmas. That is no excuse for me, but I was helping at the store as well and shopping, etc.

Christmas finally arrived and we were almost too tired to enjoy it, but we definitely managed. It sort of spread itself out over the entire weekend. Laura and Brock (my youngest daughter and her husband) could only be here Saturday and part of Sunday, so we gathered at Philip’s house in Galveston on Saturday night and gave them their presents and opened the presents from them. Sunday was Paige’s (youngest grandchild) birthday, so we were at Leah’s house for the birthday party. Of course, Monday was Christmas and we had a great time at Philip and Helen’s house. The grandkids opened way too many presents but enjoyed themselves. We got some really neat things that we can use in the RV. The biggest surprise was the one I managed to pull on Jerry. Most of you don’t know that Jerry has played piano (plus a bunch of other instruments) for many years. He has looked at keyboards off and on over the past year but always contended that we just didn’t have room. Well, I decided that we could just MAKE room so I got him one. He never had a clue! I wish you all could have seen his face when he opened it. I have to admit it was a bit of a selfish move on my part as I LOVE to hear someone play piano and now I can here it all the time. It was one of the best decisions I have ever made. Santa was good to me too as I really needed a new watch and that is exactly what I got. So all in all it was a great Christmas.

We will try to do better in keeping you all up to date on what we are doing. We will be in Houston until March and then will start our trek to Maine. We really can’t wait. When you get used to traveling, sitting in one place is pretty hard. We hope you all had a wonderful Christmas and hope you all have a Happy and Prosperous New Year.
